Equipment and Infrastructures
The Agricultural School (school of Regentes Agrícolas do Tchivinguiro) by the architect Vasco Regaleira is a model institution in the country (being connected to the Church of Tchivinguiro and the Mission, both dating from 1892). Although it was created in 1938 as the Escola Agro-Pecuária da Huíla (initially known as Escola Agro-Pecuária Dr. Francisco Vieira Machado), the foundation stone for the building was only laid in 1942 and it became the Agricultural School in 1957. In June 1980 it became known as Complexo Escolar Agrário do Tchivinguiro (Tchivinguiro Agrarian Studies Complex) and later, up to the present, Instituto de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias (Institute of Agrarian and Vetinerary Science).
