Equipment and Infrastructures
It is worth mentioning several buildings, for their architectural significance: the Hospital, of Art Deco design, with a long ground-level gallery, central loggia and indented parapet; the Post Office and Telegraphs, a building set on a corner with an imposing indented pediment, also in Art Deco style; and the Hotel Zambeze, a modern building from the 1950s-1960s, with box verandas in reinforced concrete, built on five floors with a roofed terrace. Also known is a project for the “Cinema 555” by Sampaio, Ramalhete and Eduardo da Maia Marques.
