It is worth mentioning the hospital (a vast construction begun in 1858 in stone and adobe, with two wards, kitchen, pharmacy, and a house for the physician), the building of the custom house (from the 1860s), the bridge/pier in iron (200 feet long) where the loading and unloading of goods and valuable commodities produced in the interior went on, as well as the slaves’ house, located in the historic area of the town which was classified as a monument on the 18th April 1997.
