Located in a central area, next to the Telephone Exchange building from the 1940s, this work displays a large and very bold façade, standing out in the context of the city. A wide grid-like screen, in concrete, using the brise-soleil system, covers the three main bodies: the prismatic tower and the elongated volumes on each side. It was designed around 1948 by Italian Paolo Gadini, who also designed the inn on the Island of Mozambique (according to information by Pancho Guedes, in a live 2001 interview).
