Lobito [Lubito, Olupitu], Benguela, Angola
Equipment and Infrastructures
With a modern volumetry and its prismatic body resting on pilotis the façade displays shade vents similar to the Quinaxixe Market in Luanda or that in Benguela. On the ground floor is a series of shops with glazed fronts while the upper floor, more compact and closed, contrasts with it dynamically. A running pergola on the top floor provides light and an elegant finish to the building. A project by Castro Rodrigues from 1958, built in 1964-1965. It is known it has recently been rehabilitated.
